Job Summary
Elemental Pilates and Movement Studio is seeking a warm, knowledgeable, and client-centered Pilates instructor to join our studio in beautiful Black Mountain, NC. We specialize in small equipment-based classes that allow instructors to provide individualized attention while helping clients move with confidence, strength, and ease.
Our studio offers private sessions, duets, and semi-private classes (3–4 clients) using the Reformer, Tower, and Chair, in addition to mat classes (12 max). We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every client feels supported and safe, no matter their shape or ability .
Responsibilities
- Lead group equipment classes that cater to various skill levels, emphasizing proper technique and body alignment
- Develop customized Pilates routines that incorporate core strengthening, flexibility, and balance exercises
- Educate clients on the principles of Pilates, including breathing techniques and body mechanics
- Monitor participants during sessions to ensure safety and correct form, providing modifications as needed
- Foster a motivating and inclusive atmosphere that encourages progress and confidence
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and studio space before and after classes
- Stay informed about the latest trends in fitness, Pilates techniques, and health sciences to continually enhance class offerings
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching Pilates in group or one-on-one settings within a gym or studio setting
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and exercise science
- Comprehensive Pilates Certification from an accredited program; additional certifications in other movement modalities are a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse audiences
- Ability to demonstrate exercises clearly while providing constructive feedback for improvement
- Optional opportunities to teach speciality classes or workshops
- Must have current CPR training and liability insurance
