Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and talented Church Musician to enrich our worship services and community events through inspiring musical leadership. Responsibilities
- Play piano for Sunday worship services and special church events
- Accompany choir, soloists, and other musicians during rehearsals and performances
- Work with the music director and worship team to select and prepare music
- Assist with planning and arranging hymns, contemporary songs, and special musical pieces
- Attend weekly rehearsals and coordinate with other members of the music ministry
- Support the spiritual mission of the church through music
- Collaborate with church leadership to plan music for holidays, weddings, funerals, and community outreach events.
- Ensure all musical activities adhere to liturgical guidelines while fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diverse musical expressions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in religious music performance with strong knowledge of hymns, liturgical music, and concert repertoire.
- Familiarity with music selection processes that reflect the church’s spiritual themes and seasonal calendar.
- Skilled in reading sheet music and harmonizing melodies across various genres; experience blending different musical styles is highly desirable.
- Strong background in musical improvisation composition to enhance spontaneous worship moments or special performances.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, choir members, instrumentalists, and technical staff to produce cohesive musical experiences.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a positive attitude dedicated to fostering a welcoming worship environment.
