We are currently seeking a mission-aligned, passionate Employment Training & Development Specialist to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Employment Training & Development Specialist designs, implements, and manages employment-focused training programs that empower York Street Project clients to achieve economic stability and career success. This role equips clients with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to secure meaningful employment, while fostering long-term professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Facilitation
- Develop and deliver workshops on resume writing, job search strategies, interview skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and workplace etiquette.
- Customize training modules for life skills, advocacy, leadership, and industry-specific competencies.
- Ensure trainings are client-centered, culturally relevant, and aligned with labor market needs.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate vocational, educational, and employment services.
Client Assessment & Support
- Conduct individualized vocational assessments to identify client skills, interests, and goals.
- Develop personalized career development plans.
- Offer one-on-one coaching to address employment barriers and build job readiness.
Employer Engagement & Workforce Partnerships
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local employers, workforce agencies, and training institutions.
- Source and coordinate employment and vocational opportunities that align with client goals.
- Organize job fairs, employer-led workshops, and networking events.
- Maintain a database of employment partners and job leads.
Career Development Support
- Guide clients through pathways to certifications, continuing education, and career advancement.
- Monitor client progress and provide retention support.
- Stay informed on local labor market trends to inform programming.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and employment outcomes in client records.
- Generate monthly reports to track outcomes and program performance for stakeholders.
- Assist in building and managing an internal employment resource database.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,942.28 - $60,145.54 per year
