Job Overview
We are looking for a driven and mechanically inclined Canning Line Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and sanitary operation of our canning and packaging equipment. Attention to detail is critical, as you will ensure our beverages meet the highest quality standards before they reach the customer.
Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Line Management
- Machine Start-Up: Sanitize all lines and set up the date code printer, de-palletizer, labeler, and case-filling station.
- Operating & Monitoring: Dial in fill weights while the system ramps up to daily operating speeds and maintain proper weights throughout the run.
- Continuous Supply: Replace can pallets, lids, and labels during canning runs
- Machine Shut-Down: Perform thorough rinse-downs and clean-in-place (CIP) operations on the canning machine and lines. Clean the general canning area daily.
- Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records/paperwork for all canning runs and repacks.
- Manual Packaging: Assist with filling case trays, applying paktechs and stacking finished cases.
Line Changeovers & Additional Duties
- Changeovers: Perform line changeovers for varying sizes (12oz, 16oz and 19.2oz).
- Preventative Maintenance: Replace wearable parts such as hoses and bearings. Perform general troubleshooting and replace other parts as needed.
- Inventory Tracking: Accurately track all packaging materials, including cans, lids, labels, case trays, paktechs, and cartons.
- Repacks: Execute variety pack assembly and repack 19.2oz cans into cases.
- Cellar & Kegging: Assist with kegging operations and keg cleaning on non-canning and scheduled maintenance days.
- Quality Assurance: Check seams regularly
Experience
- Experience: Previous machine operator experience required (craft beverage/brewing industry experience is a major plus).
- Certification: Forklift certification or a strong willingness to obtain certification immediately.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, and bend, stoop, and twist continuously in a fast-paced environment.
- Record Keeping: Basic math and data entry skills for tracking inventory and maintaining production logs.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
