The First Academy is seeking a spiritually vibrant, highly organized, and detail-oriented Attendance & Guidance Assistant to support student success, safety, and security across the Middle and Upper School divisions (6th–12th grade). This is a 10-month, hourly position. The ideal candidate will be a master of administrative excellence, blending accurate, period-by-period attendance tracking with seamless logistical support for the Guidance department's testing, scholarship, and student service initiatives. Serving as a vital first point of contact for families, visitors, and staff, this individual must approach every task with a Christ-like attitude, ensuring that student safety remains the highest priority while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a 10-month school year position, August - May.
Professional Qualifications
- Required Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred, along with prior experience in school operations or corporate administrative roles.
- Administrative Expertise: Proven experience in data entry, receptionist duties, customer service, or record management within an educational context is highly favored.
- Communication Skills: Possess solid, professional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective, collaborative interaction with students, parents, administration, and colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Exhibit strong organizational skills, meticulous record-keeping capabilities, efficient time management, and the ability to work independently to meet strict daily deadlines.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to effectively partner with the Upper School Front Desk Receptionist, the guidance team, the TFA Business Office, and administrators to ensure seamless multi-department operations.
- Confidentiality: Absolute ability to maintain total confidentiality pertaining to sensitive student records, personal matters, grades, and school files, strictly adhering to ethical and legal parameters.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to maintain a healthy, appropriate work/life balance.
- Operational Technology: Experience with or high aptitude for educational and database management technology:
- Student Information Systems (SIS): Direct proficiency or adaptability to learn the FACTS system for daily period-by-period student data entry and reporting.
Productivity Suites: Competency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets) and/or Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for cross-department document sharing, tracking, and summaries.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
