Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Engineer (Handyman) to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal operation of our building systems, machinery, and equipment. Your expertise will help create a safe, functional, and efficient environment across our facilities. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Conduct welding tasks and fabrications as needed for repairs or modifications.
- Maintain and repair HVAC systems to ensure optimal climate control within facilities.
- Oversee plumbing system maintenance including leak repairs, pipe replacements, and fixture servicing.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory of MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) supplies.
- Supervise or assist with residential painting projects or minor carpentry tasks to enhance facility aesthetics.
- Lead or support maintenance projects with a focus on safety compliance and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to improve facility maintenance procedures and ensure customer service excellence in all interactions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance with strong mechanical knowledge and electrical experience.
- Skilled in troubleshooting using schematics, Ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform welding, plumbing repairs, HVAC system troubleshooting, and electrical equipment repair confidently.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing or building automation systems.
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques and general handyman skills such as carpentry or drywall repair is a plus.
- Supervising experience or leadership skills in a maintenance environment are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
