Personal Assistant / Direct Support Professional (DSP)
One-on-One Support Community-Based Services Multiple Openings
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Altura Care is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Assistants/Direct Support Professionals to provide one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the Coachella Valley.
We currently have multiple openings with varying schedules and support needs, including community integration, life skills coaching, personal care support, mobility assistance, and behavioral support.
Schedule Availability Required
We are currently hiring for several clients with varying schedules.
Applicants should generally be available:
Earliest start time: 7:30 AM
Latest end time: 6:00 PM
Schedules may include weekdays and Saturdays depending on client assignment.
Part-time schedules currently range from approximately 15–35 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one support in community settings
- Assist clients with daily living activities
- Support community participation and independence
- Follow individualized support plans
- Assist with mobility and personal care when required
- Communicate observations and concerns to supervisors
Some Assignments May Require
- Toileting assistance
- Personal hygiene support
- Mobility assistance and gait belt use
- Behavioral support and redirection
- Community outings and transportation
Qualifications
- Experience in caregiving, home care, direct support, education, or related human services preferred
- Comfortable working one-on-one
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass Live Scan fingerprinting
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
