Job Title: AV Technician
Reports to: Pastor Elizabeth Felt
Job Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Job Commitment: 10-15 hours per week. In Person: Sundays 8 am - 12 pm & Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
Location: Maple Grove, MN
Compensation: $18,000-20,000/year, depending on experience
Job Summary:
The AV Technician leads all video, lighting, audio, and production efforts to support worship services, events, and communications. This role creates spaces (both online and in person) that support meaningful worship and enable clear, effective communication of the gospel.
In addition, this role contributes to ongoing content creation and storytelling through video and media, supporting both live production excellence and the development of engaging digital content.
Essential Functions:
- Deliver excellent and reliable production for worship services, events, and gatherings (video, audio, lighting, livestream)
- Build, lead, and train a volunteer AV team
- Ensure system reliability, readiness, and continuous improvement
- Support communication and storytelling through video, media, and visual content
- Plan and execute an AV strategy aligned with church growth and ministry needs
- Prepare slides with worship service information to be displayed on screens during worship.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Creative skills to develop compelling video content.
- Experience with ProPresenter, Boxcast, OBS & Church Online
- Solid understanding of file structure, archiving, and project workflows
- Live Streaming/video broadcasting is preferred
- Graphic design experience
- Experience in sound design and mixing
- Comfortable using YouTube/YouTube Studio and managing a channel
- Expertise in Video
- Understanding of all common video formats.
- Live switching, scaling, and streaming
- Exhibits a mechanical aptitude and displays knowledge and experience in sound, lighting
- General expert in video editing software
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and train volunteers and staff in AV needs
- Ability to move quickly between multiple projects while continually raising the bar on creative assignments
- Advanced audio engineering (FOH and broadcast)
- Multi-camera production and lighting design experience
- Networking fundamentals for AV systems
- Acceptable background check as determined by Advent Lutheran Church
Pay: $18,000.00 - $20,000.00 per year
