A well-established, automotive dealership group is seeking an experienced and results-oriented General Manager to lead its dealership in the Charlotte metropolitan area. This is a search for a proven automotive leader who has demonstrated success in driving profitability, developing high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
This position offers the opportunity to lead an established dealership with the support of an ownership group committed to operational excellence, employee development, and long-term growth.
Previous experience as a General Manager of a franchised automotive dealership is required. Candidates without prior General Manager experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all dealership operations, including Sales, Finance & Insurance (F&I), Service, Parts, and Administration.
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence while achieving key performance objectives.
- Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators to develop and execute strategic business plans.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop department managers and dealership staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, integrity, and outstanding customer service.
- Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction and manufacturer performance standards.
- Oversee inventory management, expense control, and departmental performance.
- Ensure compliance with all manufacturer requirements, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturer representatives, lending partners, vendors, and the local community.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize dealership performance and profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a General Manager of a franchised automotive dealership.
- Proven history of increasing dealership sales, profitability, and operational performance.
- Strong understanding of dealership financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multiple departments and large teams.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS), CRM software, and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience leading high-volume dealerships is highly desirable.
