Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Barn Maintenance Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our equine facilities. The ideal candidate should have a least 1 year of horse handling experience, a strong work ethic and, be willing to work weekends. If this describes you, then we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities:
- Daily stall care-cleaning and disposing of soiled stall material, cleaning feed and water buckets, scrubbing and disinfecting stalls after patient departs
- Feed and water the horses
- Prepare stalls for incoming patients
- Ensure hay and bedding are available in stalls as instructed
- Keep all areas of the barn(s) organized and tidy
- Pressure washing
- Dust and sweep stalls and isles
- Hold horses for procedures as needed
- Load horses in trailers as needed
- Mowing and weed eating
- Pick up trash on the grounds as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1 years horse handling experience
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain etc.)
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Very strong work ethic
- Reliable transportation to commute to and from work
- Must be able to work weekend hours
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18-20 hours part time- weekends
Experience:
- Working around horses: 1 year (Preferred)
Ability to Commute:
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
