About MedRx Infusion Specialty Pharmacy
We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist / HR Consultant to oversee and support our Human Resources operations. This role is ideal for an HR-certified professional who enjoys hands-on HR management, compliance oversight, and working with growing teams.
The HR Specialist will serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff, ensuring HR practices are compliant, up-to-date, and consistently applied. The role requires on-site presence at least once every two weeks, with additional work performed remotely.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations and ensure compliance with federal, state (including California), and local labor laws
- Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures
- Ensure proper documentation for employee files, onboarding, offboarding, and disciplinary actions
- Monitor compliance with wage and hour laws, overtime rules, and employee classifications
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee HR questions and concerns
- Advise management on employee relations matters, performance management, and corrective actions
- Assist with investigations related to workplace issues, grievances, or complaints
Training & Policy Implementation
- Support mandatory training programs (e.g., HIPAA, workplace safety, compliance, ethics, harassment prevention)
- Help implement HR best practices and recommend process improvements
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies across departments
Management & Advisory Support
- Provide guidance to leadership on HR strategy, risk mitigation, and compliance matters
- Support organizational growth by helping scale HR processes and controls
- Coordinate with payroll, benefits, and external vendors as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- HR certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare, regulated industries, or growing organizations
- Strong knowledge of California labor law and federal employment regulations
- Experience with employee handbooks, compliance audits, and HR policy development
- Excellent communication, judgment, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Work Arrangement
- Part-time, flexible schedule
- Required on-site presence at least once every two weeks
- Remote work for remaining hours
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate or monthly retainer, based on experience and engagement structure
