Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Roof Foreman to lead our roofing crews and oversee the successful execution of residential and commercial roofing projects. The Roof Foreman is responsible for supervising daily job site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, extensive roofing knowledge, and the ability to coordinate crews, materials, and schedules while maintaining compliance with company policies and OSHA safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead roofing crews in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of various roofing systems, including metal roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, shingles, and other roofing materials.
- Plan, organize, and assign daily work activities to maximize crew productivity and meet project deadlines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
- Ensure all roofing installations meet company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to monitor workmanship, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ladders, scaffolding, fall protection systems, and safety harnesses.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and workforce allocation to minimize project delays.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members on roofing techniques, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, material usage, and project documentation.
- Assist with roofing repairs, siding installation, flashing, waterproofing, framing, trim carpentry, caulking, and other related construction tasks as required.
- Safely oversee material handling and heavy lifting operations while ensuring proper equipment usage.
- Resolve job site issues quickly while maintaining productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of roofing experience, with previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial roofing systems, including metal roofing, single-ply membrane roofing, shingles, tile roofing, and roof repair.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, construction drawings, project layouts, and construction estimating principles.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, fall protection requirements, and construction site safety practices.
- Experience operating hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, and other construction-related machinery.
- Proven ability to lead crews, manage multiple tasks, and maintain productivity in fast-paced outdoor work environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work safely in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
