As we continue to grow nationally, we are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Physician Relations Representative to expand our referral network and serve as a trusted resource to healthcare providers.
Position Summary
The Physician Relations Representative is responsible for developing and managing relationships with physicians, medical practices, surgery centers, hospitals, and healthcare organizations throughout an assigned territory. This role focuses on business development, physician education, account management, and long-term relationship building to increase referral volume and support sustainable company growth.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who enjoys networking, building partnerships, and creating long-term business relationships within the healthcare industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new physician referral relationships through strategic prospecting and networking.
- Build strong partnerships with dermatologists, neurologists, podiatrists, primary care physicians, pain management specialists, wound care providers, surgery centers, and other healthcare organizations.
- Conduct in-person physician office visits, lunch-and-learn presentations, and virtual educational meetings.
- Educate providers and office staff on GoldPath Labs' diagnostic testing, services, and specimen collection processes.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan.
- Identify new business opportunities and convert qualified prospects into active referral accounts.
- Maintain regular communication with existing clients to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and continued account growth.
- Utilize the Rule of 7–8 Touchpoints to develop meaningful, long-term provider relationships.
- Attend medical conferences, networking events, community outreach events, and industry meetings representing GoldPath Labs.
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership to execute marketing initiatives and business development strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all prospecting activities, meetings, referrals, and opportunities within the company's CRM.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for continued growth.
Performance Expectations
First 30 Days
- Complete laboratory and product training.
- Learn GoldPath Labs' services, workflows, and value proposition.
- Build a targeted prospect list of at least 100 healthcare providers.
- Generate a minimum of 50 qualified physician leads.
- Schedule at least 20 physician meetings.
First 60 Days
- Establish relationships with key providers throughout the assigned territory.
- Secure a minimum of 3 active referral accounts.
- Conduct consistent physician outreach and follow-up.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline with qualified opportunities.
First 90 Days
- Secure 5 or more active referral accounts.
- Demonstrate consistent growth in specimen volume.
- Develop long-term relationships with high-value physician practices.
- Meet or exceed established territory growth goals.
- Maintain consistent CRM documentation and account follow-up.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong relationship-building and networking abilities.

- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Professional presentation and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout assigned territory.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare sales, laboratory sales, pathology, diagnostics, medical device, pharmaceutical, or physician relations.
- Experience calling on physician offices and medical practices.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, or similar systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
