Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision at all times. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction site operations, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate multiple types of equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and cranes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure development while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, cranes, and water trucks with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction sites by moving materials and preparing work areas.
- Support concrete pouring activities by operating mixers and related machinery.
- Manage the transportation of materials using dump trucks, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and tanker trucks.
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction site protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and operational issues for reporting purposes.
Qualifications
- Proficient in hydraulic systems, including electric over hydraulic and air over hydraulic systems.
- Understanding of electrical theory.
- Ability to read and comprehend wiring schematics, Fabrication, Welding, and Class 7/8 Chassis Experience is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of construction materials and processes including concrete mixing and farm machinery operation.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and operate machinery such as Caterpillar equipment confidently.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and site supervisors.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
