Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing components needed for daily service and special events.
- Handle food with care, following proper food safety and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by cooking, plating, and garnishing dishes efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold health regulations and safety standards.
- Participate in food handling procedures, including storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely delivery of orders and exceptional food presentation.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant kitchens with a strong foundation in culinary techniques.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs.
- Skilled in knife handling and meal preparation to ensure precision and safety during food prep tasks.
- Familiarity with food industry standards for food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with catering or serving is advantageous for supporting large events or banquet services.
- Strong teamwork skills combined with excellent communication to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff.
