Under general supervision, designs creative visual tools for public transit, regional waste operations, and transportation planning services to engage residents in the support and utilization of these public programs; performs other related duties as required.
This position receives immediate supervision from the Public Affairs Manager unless otherwise assigned. Incumbents in this class do not routinely exercise supervision.

Develops, designs, and produces branding and promotional materials, such as infographics, videos, flyers, posters, brochures, advertisements, and social media content in order to market the support and utilization of public programs for primarily the Transit Joint Powers Authority (The Bus) and the Yosemite Area Transportation System (
YARTS
), but may also produce materials for Regional Waste Management Authority of Merced County, and Merced County Association of Governments (MCAG
) including work associated with administering Measure V. -
Takes, collects, and prepares photographs, audio recordings, and videos at public events for use in online forums, radio, and TV broadcasts; attends night and evening meetings and functions, as needed.

Creates web and electronic templates in coordination with public affairs staff; prepares web content for assigned programs and projects.

Back and front-end administration of Agency websites including content organization and creation of new design/layout features.

Administers audio and video recording equipment and devices for public meetings, as needed.

Develops and prepares multi-media presentations to promote the Agency and its programs.

Provides technical expertise for incorporation of multimedia elements within educational and training applications.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant multimedia technologies, programs, and capable of creating vector and high resolution, rasterized graphics.

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe products.
A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, Communications, Multimedia Design or a related field preferred, or completion of a commensurate vocational program. An Associate’s degree in a related field along with two or more years of experience in applicable field may be acceptable.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver’s license prior to beginning this position.

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near vision in reading correspondence, statistical data and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The need to lift, drag and push files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds is also required.
