Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in assembling dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Support the kitchen team in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and rotation to prevent waste and contamination
- Assist with menu planning by preparing components for daily specials or themed menus under supervision
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of menu items efficiently and accurately
- Serve as a team player by collaborating with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, knife skills, and basic culinary techniques is advantageous
- Fine dining experience or background in the food industry demonstrates a strong foundation in quality standards
- Familiarity with meal preparation, menu planning, and catering operations enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Commitment to food safety practices and understanding of sanitation regulations is vital for success
