Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistance devices
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals according to care plans and assist residents with eating when necessary
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans, ensuring safety and accuracy
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning, laundry, and organization of living spaces in compliance with health standards
- Support residents during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is essential
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in medication administration or heavy lifting is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to follow care plans meticulously while maintaining compassion and patience
- Prior experience using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal mobility aids is beneficial
