Baldwin Bone & Joint is looking for a Full-Time licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to help patients reduce their pain, improve their mobility, and help patients return to an active lifestyle.
You will work closely and under the direction of the physical therapist, treating patients with orthopedic medical pathologies. Our patients are both surgical and non-surgical and vary in age.
Responsibilities:
Provides physical therapy treatments according to the physical therapists’ treatment plan.
- Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner
- Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises, movement strategies, and safety techniques
- Identify patient’s needs and exhibit compassion, care, and empathy to individual differences
- Recommend options, courses of action or modifications in selected treatments ensuring patient’s progress, safety and comfort
- Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms, and preventing injury
- Complete documentation to support the delivery of physical therapy services
- Perform selected data collection and obtain accurate information
- Measure performance and report on the patient’s medical record
- Participate in patient status judgments
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards
- Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge
Excellent knowledge of physiology best practices and standards
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training, manual therapy techniques and physical modalities
- Ability to communicate and instruct patients effectively
Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans
Ability to document thoroughly, accurately, and efficiently
Maintain patient records confidentially
Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.
Supervises Physical Therapy Aides in direct patient care and related activities as requested.
Complies with the State of Alabaman Physical Practice Therapy Act
- License to practice in the State of Alabama
- Associate or BS degree in PTA
