Job Title: Barista & Shift Manager
Location: Annapolis Junction. Maryland
Reports to: Store Manager / Owner
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, customer-focused Barista & Shift Manager to join our team. In this dual role, you will deliver exceptional coffee and beverage service while leading shifts, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment for both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with consistency and speed.

Deliver outstanding customer service, build rapport with guests, and handle customer concerns professionally.

Lead and supervise the team during your shift, including coaching, directing workflow, and maintaining standards.

Oversee daily operations such as opening/closing procedures, cleanliness, and food/beverage safety compliance.

Manage shift inventory, restocking, and waste minimization.

Uphold brand standards for drink quality, presentation, and service excellence.
Support training of new baristas and promote a positive team culture.

Requirements:

1+ years of barista experience in a specialty coffee shop (preferred).

Previous shift lead or supervisory experience in food/beverage service.

Strong knowledge of coffee, espresso techniques, and drink recipes.

Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, upbeat personality.

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays.

Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
ServSafe and/or food handler certification (or willingness to obtain).
