Community Health Worker / Ambassador – Contract (10 Positions)
Compensation: $3,000/month per CHW Ambassador
Reports To: Community Engagement/Health Manager
Position Summary
Community Health Worker (CHW) Ambassadors will be trained and deployed to serve as frontline community connectors, supporting SCACAP’s Nutrition & Healthy Eating initiatives. They will engage families directly, organize health and wellness fairs, and lead parent engagement events to strengthen awareness of healthy eating resources and community supports. Ambassadors will continue serving in these roles within their communities beyond the grant period.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct family and community outreach to promote nutrition programs and resources.
- Organize and support health fairs, outreach campaigns, and community wellness events.
- Lead parent engagement sessions and distribute educational materials.
- Provide peer support, goal-setting, and linkages to local nutrition and health resources.
- Collect participant feedback and share insights with program leadership.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is preferred, and a community health certificate is a plus (community health, early childhood, or social services background preferred).
- Respected member of the community; trusted relationship-builder.
- Experience conducting outreach, event support, or peer/parent leadership.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or other prevalent language preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
