Morledge Law Firm is a dedicated criminal defense practice that fights for individuals facing serious charges and life-changing legal situations. We believe in strong advocacy, fairness, and second chances. Our team includes four attorneys, several law clerks (current law students), and two additional paralegals/legal assistants who collaborate to provide the highest level of service to our clients.
About the Role:
Responsibilities of this position include:
- To welcome clients and guests upon arrival, announcing them to the appropriate staff member, and directing them to their destination
- Receive incoming calls, screen inquiries, take messages, and transferring calls to the correct staff member
- Receiving and sorting incoming mail
- Keeping the reception area clean
- Filing documents, faxing, copying, confirming appointments and court dates, collecting client information, creating physical and digital client files, and data entry
- Completing other miscellaneous tasks requested by attorneys
You may be the first voice people hear when they call our office—so professionalism, patience, and clear communication are key.
This position involves exposure to some sensitive subject matter due to the nature of our work. But, for the right person, that’s part of what will make this job exciting. Qualifications:
· Prior experience in a law office or criminal law related position is preferred, but not required
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Comfortable handling a high volume of phone calls
· Able to maintain confidentiality and manage shifting priorities
