Position Overview
We are seeking compassionate, licensed mental health professionals to join our growing network as Independent Contractors (1099) providing outpatient psychotherapy services through the Headway platform. This opportunity is ideal for clinicians who want the flexibility of private practice while leveraging Headway's technology for insurance credentialing, billing, scheduling, telehealth, and practice management.
As an independent contractor, you will maintain full clinical autonomy while managing your own schedule, caseload, and treatment approach. Headway supports providers by streamlining administrative tasks such as insurance credentialing, claims submission, eligibility verification, and payment processing.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and/or adults.
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Deliver services through secure telehealth and/or in-person sessions (depending on your practice).
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain ethical, professional, and HIPAA-compliant standards of care.
- Manage your own appointment availability and caseload.
- Communicate professionally with clients and respond to scheduling needs in a timely manner.
- Complete documentation and treatment records according to insurance and platform requirements.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted professional license in your practicing state, including one of the following: LCSW, LMFT, LPC/LPCC
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professional standards.
- Reliable internet connection and private workspace for telehealth services.
Compensation

Employment Status
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Providers are responsible for maintaining all required professional licenses, certifications, malpractice insurance, and tax obligations associated with independent contractor status.
