Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression and guiding them to their tables
- Manage restaurant reservation systems to schedule and confirm bookings efficiently
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while maintaining guest satisfaction
- Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times or reservations using proper phone etiquette
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, waitlists, and guest preferences using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Support food safety standards by ensuring cleanliness and organization in the host station area
- Assist with guest relations by addressing inquiries, special requests, or concerns promptly and courteously
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant setting
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software and POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
- Basic math skills for managing waitlists, billing procedures, and table allocations
- Knowledge of food safety practices to uphold hygiene standards in the host station area
- Ability to demonstrate hospitality excellence through friendly demeanor, patience, and professionalism at all times
