Part-Time | Before & After School Program
Position Summary

As a Group Leader, you will supervise and engage elementary-aged children in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll lead activities, encourage positive social interactions, and help create meaningful experiences that foster confidence, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.
ResponsibilitiesChild Supervision & Safety
- Provide active supervision of children at all times.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment where every child feels welcomed and valued.
- Guide children's behavior using positive behavior management strategies.
- Follow all program policies, licensing regulations, and emergency procedures.
Activity Leadership
- Lead and participate in arts and crafts, STEM activities, cooperative games, homework support, and enrichment opportunities.
- Encourage creativity, teamwork, independence, and problem-solving.
- Prepare activity materials and assist with daily setup and cleanup.
- Adapt activities to meet the interests and developmental needs of children.
Outdoor Recreation
- Actively supervise children during outdoor play and recreational activities.
- Lead organized games and encourage healthy physical activity.
- Monitor playground equipment and play areas to ensure children's safety.
- Conduct regular head counts and maintain appropriate supervision during transitions.
- Promote teamwork, inclusion, and positive sportsmanship during outdoor play.
Program Support
- Assist with snack service and cleanup.
- Help maintain clean, organized classrooms and activity spaces.
- Support daily arrival and dismissal procedures.
- Communicate important information and observations to program leadership.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including wiping tables, organizing materials, sweeping floors, and sanitizing activity areas.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age and meet one of the following New Hampshire licensing qualifications:
- At least 600 hours of experience working with school-age children.
- Completion of 3 college credits in child development, education, recreation, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Current certification as a coach.
- At least 5 years of parenting experience.
- Documentation showing qualification as a School-Age Group Leader prior to 2022 under New Hampshire licensing regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in childcare, education, recreation, camps, or youth programs.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable, energetic, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for helping children learn, grow, and succeed.
