Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, preparing bids, and managing project budgets related to custom millwork and cabinetry. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, cost control, and seamless communication with clients and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret material requirements and project scope
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for millwork components, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Utilize estimating software to develop accurate bids and proposals
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and clarify project details
Skills
- Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the commercial construction industry
- Strong proficiency in estimating software
- Understanding of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical drawings
- Expertise in material cost estimating, pricing strategies, and estimating material requirements from blueprints
- Excellent negotiation skills for securing favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors
- Knowledge of contracts, cost management practices, and construction site experience for accurate estimation and project execution
