One of our dessert bakers needs to take a two-month medical leave, and we are looking for someone highly proficient in cakes, curds, mousses, glazes, cookies, piping and finishing desserts to come in. This position would be full-time, four ten-hour shifts per week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) from 6am-4pm. Pay is $22/hr plus about $8/hr in tips on average.
Duties include: Finishing mousse desserts and tarts for the case each morning, building dessert components, assembling desserts, mixing and scooping/sheeting cookies and baking tea cakes and cake layers.
An ideal candidate would have at least two years experience in dessert-making either in a high-volume restaurant or a production bakery. This is a solo station, so you will need to feel comfortable working independently. Extreme attention to detail, punctuality, inquisitiveness, and professionalism are absolute MUSTS. This is a temporary position, but could lead to a permanent position within Temple if it's an amazing fit.
