- Assist, supervise, support and instruct residents in activities of daily living (ADL’s) utilizing the individual service plans as a guiding tool. ADL’s include: meal planning and preparation, money management, use of community resources, medication management, health management, transportation, basic housekeeping, etc. Provide accurate documentation of services provided.
- Encourage residents to participate in day programming, evening and weekend activities.
- Complete comprehensive and therapeutic service plans as assigned by the Program Director as well as monthly summaries, weekly reports, functional assessments, and applicable billing notes for residents on Counselor’s caseload or as assigned.
- Responsible for storage, record keeping, supervision and training of residents in self-administration of medication.
- Participate in the team process (attend staff meetings).
- Be available to provide assistance in emergencies by participating in the on-call rotation.
- Complete record keeping according to agency policy and procedures.
- Provide informal/situational counseling with a focus on teaching residents to develop decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Focus and initiate preventative approaches in areas of behavioral intervention via an affirmative, yet non-threatening mode of interaction.
- Ensure a healthy and clean living environment for residents.
- Prepare meals/snacks as needed, complete breakfast log, when applicable.
- Provide transportation and housekeeping duties as needed.
- Responsible for reporting to the House Manager areas of concern relative to the building and grounds.
- Participate in appropriate trainings and professional developments as they become available.
- Respond to crisis and emergencies.
- Follow all NYS vehicle and traffic laws while on duty.
- All other duties as assigned by Management Team.
