Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for caregiving and experience working with individuals with disabilities or in assisted living settings. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of residents within our group homes.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Administer medication following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and health status regularly to identify any changes requiring attention.
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to sanitation standards.
- Provide emotional support and engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community integration.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia.
- Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic first aid procedures.
- Experience using EMR systems for documentation and resident records management.
- Group home experience or personal care home background is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties is an asset.
