Responsibilities
- Provide expert hair cutting, styling, coloring, and grooming services tailored to each client’s preferences
- Perform specialized services such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application to enhance client satisfaction
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools and workstations regularly in accordance with health regulations
- Use salon software like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and streamline daily operations
- Engage with clients through effective communication and personalized consultations to understand their needs and recommend suitable treatments
- Upsell retail products related to hair care, styling tools, and beauty essentials to support clients’ ongoing beauty routines
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing bookings, and handling retail sales to ensure smooth salon flow
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state or local regulations
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of hair styling and grooming skills
- Knowledge of hair coloring techniques, color theory, and advanced styling methods including hair threading and makeup application
- Familiarity with salon management software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms
- Ability to perform specialized services like straight razor shaves and eyelash extensions with precision and care
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build lasting client relationships
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices to maintain a safe and hygienic environment at all times
- Experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute positively to a collaborative team atmosphere
