Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate with deli experience to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and assisting with deli operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and experience in retail sales and grocery store environments. Duties
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately
- Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries and product demos
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with proper cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays
- Assist in the deli section by preparing and serving food items as needed
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and deli section
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory checks
- Follow phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales techniques
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for transactions and inventory counts
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities for diverse clientele
