Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards
- Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning and organization of living spaces
- Support residents or clients with specialized care such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care needs
- Use assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safe transfers and mobility support
- Document care activities meticulously, including patient observations and progress notes
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans and ensure comprehensive support
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, or hospice care are highly valued
- Strong ability to monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health deterioration or emergencies
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or Alzheimer's/dementia care needs
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and families
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience, attentiveness, and respect for individual dignity
