Ohio Mulch Supply is searching for a Forklift Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Assistant Mechanic.
Must be willing to learn to work on Forklifts, (including Moffett Forklift and Spider Forklifts), Skid-steers, Front-Loaders and other heavy equipment. Must have own tools.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Inspect, lubricate, and service equipment.
- Check, fill, and/or change appropriate fluids for all equipment parts and check/change filters.
- Inspect, equipment support systems.
- Assist Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic with repairs, maintenance assignments and adjustments of all heavy equipment.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties related tools, materials, shop and work areas.
- Perform required administrative duties when necessary, such as cycle counts, parts requisitions, warranties, etc.
- May assist in other areas of the maintenance shop as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair.
- Experience with diesel powered vehicles preferred.
- Ability to safely drive equipment in and out of service area.
- General knowledge of equipment components and systems.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must have own tools.
- Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business
