The NIST Child Care Center is a NAEYC accredited school with a Maryland Excels rating of 5 located on the grounds of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. We strive to provide a developmentally appropriate program that meets the needs of each individual child.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the overall cleanliness and organization of the classroom.
- Prepares and implements lesson plans that are based on the curriculum approved by the program
- Communicates and interacts with children, staff and parents in a positive respectful manner
- Uses developmentally appropriate techniques when working with children both individually and in groups.
- Documents children’s development using our assessment tools, child portfolios and observations.
- Conducts parent/teacher conferences a minimum of twice a year
- Other duties may be assigned
Applicants must meet the following basic qualifications for consideration:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must have a minimum of an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education
- ADA training
- Health, Safety and nutrition training
Applicants with the following qualifications are preferred:
- Has an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
