Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Assistant Director of Nursing assumes delegated responsibility and accountability for the provision of resident care according to professional standards of nursing practice and in compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations.
The ADON/Staff Development will:
- Implement nursing policies and procedures that reflect the facility’s mission and philosophy.
- Conduct staff education, training, quality assurance, interviews, new hire orientation
- Utilize resources in an efficient and economic manner to ensure that each resident achieves the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Supervise licensed nurses and other nursing personnel in the delivery of care and services in accordance with each resident’s comprehensive assessment and plan of care.
Minimum Qualification Standards
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
License: Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. Must have no restrictions on license.
Experience: Prior experience as a unit Charge Nurse or in a similar supervisory role preferred.

- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and implement staff development and training programs.
- Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, primarily Monday through Friday.
- Flexibility required to cover facility needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Participation in the on-call rotation required
