SUMMARY:
The Painter is a skilled facilities maintenance professional responsible for preparing, repairing, and painting interior and exterior building surfaces to maintain the appearance, functionality, and condition of commercial facilities. This position performs a variety of painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and finishing tasks while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The Painter will be assigned to various client locations as needed and must be able to travel between sites. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
DUTIES:

Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.

Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

Repair drywall, plaster, and other wall surfaces prior to painting.

Perform minor carpentry repairs including trim, doors, moldings, wall panels, and other building components.

Match and mix paints to achieve desired colors and finishes.

Paint interior and exterior walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other building components.

Inspect painted surfaces and perform touch-up work as needed.

Maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition.

Identify and report facility deficiencies requiring additional repairs.

Travel to multiple client locations to perform painting and maintenance-related work as assigned.

Assist the maintenance team with event setup and breakdown activities.

Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, materials, and debris as required.

Perform hauling and disposal of trash, construction debris, and surplus materials.

Escort contractors, vendors, and inspectors as needed.

Assist with minor building repairs including basic plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general maintenance tasks within skill level.

Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities as directed.

Demonstrates initiative in assignments and maintains positive customer relations.

Responds to service requests and emergency calls as needed.

Follows all safety practices and adheres to all safety-related policies.

Maintains accurate and timely paperwork.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Must be available on weekends if needed.
REQUIREMENTS:

3-5 years minimum painting experience.

At least 2 years of experience in commercial buildings.

Experience with drywall repair, patching, and surface preparation.

Basic carpentry skills and experience performing building repairs.

Knowledge of painting materials, coatings, and application techniques.

Experience using brushes, rollers, and paint sprayers.

Basic plumbing, HVAC, and electrical knowledge preferred.

Basic computer skills/email usage.

Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.

Ability to read work orders and follow specifications.

CMMS experience preferred.

Ability to lift and move equipment, furniture, and materials.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Reliable transportation required.

Ability and willingness to travel between multiple client sites throughout the workday.

Experience working independently at various locations with minimal supervision.

Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
