Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues across various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and suspension components.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on powertrain components, vehicle suspension systems, and transmission systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics accurately to troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions.
- Repair or replace vehicle components such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), wheels, brakes, steering mechanisms, and welding repairs as needed.
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to perform tasks such as alignment adjustments, wheel balancing, and component replacements.
- Maintain detailed service records, prepare auto estimating reports, and communicate repair needs clearly to customers with excellent customer service skills.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all work meets safety standards and quality expectations while adhering to dealership or shop procedures.
Requirements
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair across various brands; familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and electrical systems troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance including diesel engine repair, vehicle transmission system repair, and vehicle suspension system repair.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools, wiring diagrams, power tools, welding equipment, and auto estimating software.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training; ASE certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
