What You'll Do:
As an Estimator, you'll play a critical role in helping Gothic win work and deliver successful projects. You'll partner closely with Operations, Project Management, Purchasing, and subcontractors to develop accurate, competitive bids that position our teams for success.
In this role, you will:
- Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to fully understand project scope and requirements.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software.
- Prepare detailed estimates using Sage Estimating (or similar estimating software).
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
- Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop complete project estimates.
- Prepare cost analyses and identify opportunities for value engineering while maintaining project quality.
- Identify discrepancies, omissions, or potential risks within construction documents and communicate them to leadership.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and operational expectations.
- Participate in estimating meetings and support continuous improvement within the department.

- Helping Gothic deliver projects that exceed client expectations.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of 3 years of construction estimating experience.
- Commercial landscape construction estimating experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Sage Estimating, OnCenter, or similar estimating software is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
