The firm has three subsidiaries.
1) TradePort Development Company is the developer of a continental system of 34 TradePort Hubs along four strategic North American TradePort Corridors. Each TradePort Hub is a next-generation port complex/industrial district ranging in size from 1000 to 5000 acres in size.
2) GLDPartners provides business solutions across three areas: 1) advise global manufacturers and other shippers on supply chain strategy, network optimization and facility site selection; 2) advise asset/infrastructure investors and logistics asset owners (seaports, airports, rail) on project and market strategy; 3) master project planner of the North American TradePort Corridor System.
3) GLDPartners Mobility creates and deploys advanced technology solutions in support of ultra high-efficiency supply chain management and logistics. GLDPartners Mobility is leading the development of the TradePort Technology Platform and is deeply involved in cargo movement automation, cargo data integration, next generation infrastructure for TradePort Hubs, and clean powertrain deployment (hydrogen and electric).
The firm maintains its headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona, with staff presence in Washington DC, New York City, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Indianapolis and South Carolina.
Over the past 17 years, Global Logistics Development Partners has undertaken projects throughout the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Role Overview
A senior member of the firm's management team, in this role we are seeking an extraordinarily dynamic and visionary professional that can shape the planning, delivery and operation of a system of 33 large-scale port districts across North America. Due to the complexity of the role. only people with substantial senior experience in logistics, supply chain and/or partnership structuring should respond.
The Port System Development Director will lead our work to establish a network of interconnected inland port complexes across the US, Canada and Mexico. In this pivotal role, you will be a vital player in port planning, logistics facility terminal deal development and ongoing operations of the integrated network of port complexes. Each port complex is expected to be comprised of some or all of the following functions: road, rail and air supported cargo handling facilities, including temperature controlled logistics, transload, cross dock, tenant inventory management facilities, air cargo consolidation, bonded warehouse, FTZ, truck parking, equipment management and storage, etc. The project is being developed as the most advanced logistics system in the world, supported by a dedicated technology platform. This role will oversee and coordinate the development of the platform.
With others on the management team, the Port System Development Director will navigate the development of business partnerships with a matrix of companies that are in the business of logistics services and logistics facility management.
As a senior member of a very dynamic small firm, the person in this role will be a hands-on leader with an ability and desire to do many things at once.
The role requires a combination of experience in the following areas: strategic business strategy, financial deal structuring, logistics services, logistics technologies, infrastructure planning, and business partnerships.
Fundamentally, the successful candidate must have strong experience in understanding and managing financial elements of delivery, including deal structuring, operational fees, cost management and investment investment funding. Our Port System Development Director will have a full and clear understanding of logistics service provider companies and their operations, business development practices, WMS, yard management, etc.
Importantly, the role functions as a member of our senior corporate team, and the successful candidate will interface every day with other members including planning and development, technology, project finance, market analysis, business development and policy functions.
Qualifications

- Strong background in understanding North American logistics (ocean, rail, truck and air).
- Knowledge of seaport and inland port functions, terminal operations and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of the array of cargo data and automation technologies that are advancing efficiency in the logistics space.
- Savvy in developing business partnership agreements and associated financial evaluations
- Demonstrated background and success in evaluating and developing partner deals.
- Proven experience in supply chain management with a strong background in warehouse distribution, transportation planning, and logistics operations.
- Knowledge of inventory control systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP platform.
- Familiarity with e-commerce logistics, materials handling equipment like forklifts, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and sourcing strategies.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, shipping & receiving procedures, procurement processes, and category management practices.
