Job Summary
Southern Touch Bakery, Coffee Shop & Café is seeking an energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Bakery Team Member to join our team. This position is cross-trained in multiple areas of the business, including bakery service, coffee preparation, food service, customer service, and general cleaning. Team members play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for every customer while helping maintain the high standards of quality, cleanliness, and hospitality that our guests expect.
This is a fast-paced position that requires multitasking, attention to detail, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
Duties
- Prepare and decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods with precision and creativity
- Handle food packaging efficiently to ensure freshness and presentation quality
- Assist in food production processes, including mixing, baking, and assembling various items
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Support kitchen operations by organizing ingredients, managing inventory, and ensuring cleanliness
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and answering inquiries about products
- Follow recipes accurately while applying culinary techniques to produce consistent results
Skills
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts with a keen eye for detail
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures in a commercial kitchen or bakery environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Experience in food packaging, catering, or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of the food industry practices related to culinary production and kitchen operations
