On-Call Caregiver (CNA)
Position Overview
Cranberry Home Care is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and highly reliable On-Call Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others and understands the importance of being available when our clients need care the most.
As an On-Call Caregiver, you are responsible for providing immediate coverage when a scheduled caregiver is unable to work. You must be prepared to travel to any of our client locations during your assigned on-call shift and provide exceptional care with little notice.
This role requires flexibility, commitment, and reliability. If you are scheduled to be on call, you are expected to be available for the entire shift and must accept any assignment that arises during your scheduled on-call hours.
Compensation
- $40 On-Call Base Pay for each scheduled on-call day, even if you are not called in.
If you are called into a shift, you will receive:
- Your regular hourly wage for all hours worked.
- The $40 on-call base pay for that day.
Schedule
Must be available for one of the following shifts:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Must remain available for the entire scheduled on-call shift.
Essential Responsibilities
- Respond promptly when contacted for shift coverage.
- Travel to any Cranberry Home Care client's residence as needed.
- Provide compassionate, high-quality personal care and companionship.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including but not limited to:
- Personal hygiene and bathing
- Dressing and grooming
- Mobility and transfers
- Meal preparation
- Medication reminders
- Light housekeeping
- Companionship
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the office regarding client concerns or changes in condition.
Requirements
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable personal vehicle.
- Clean driving record.
- Current automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel to any assigned client location.
- Excellent attendance and dependability.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must pass all required background checks and meet employment eligibility requirements.
On-Call Expectations
This position is critical to ensuring uninterrupted care for our clients. Because of this, the following expectations are mandatory:
- You must remain available for your entire scheduled on-call shift.
- You must be prepared to travel to any client within Cranberry Home Care's service area.
- Shifts may not be declined while you are on call. By accepting an on-call schedule, you are committing to cover any assignment that becomes available during your scheduled hours.
- You should be ready to leave for an assignment promptly after being contacted.
- Reliability is essential. Failure to fulfill scheduled on-call responsibilities may result in disciplinary action and/or termination.
