Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)

Schedule Information
- Night Shift
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license required
- Recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required by the facility
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and patient care skills
- Experience with IV pumps, smart infusion devices, patient monitoring equipment, oxygen delivery systems, mobility equipment, and electronic health records (EHR)
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities
- Ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced acute care setting
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based practices
- Complete thorough patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly to the healthcare team
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely and accurately
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Operate and monitor clinical equipment, including IV pumps, patient monitors, and oxygen delivery systems
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
