CDL-A Truck Driver — Local Landscape Construction
Pay: $28–$32 per hour, based on experience

A-L Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL-A Truck Driver to support our landscape construction and seasonal snow operations throughout New Jersey.
This is a local driving position with no regular overnight travel. You will transport equipment and materials to commercial and residential project sites while working closely with our field and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, dump trucks, hook-lift trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles.
- Transport equipment, soil, stone, plant material, containers, and construction supplies to and from jobsites, suppliers, and company facilities.
- Safely load, unload, and secure equipment and materials using appropriate chains, straps, binders, and tie-down procedures.
- Perform and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain required driver logs, delivery paperwork, inspection reports, and other records.
- Communicate with supervisors and project teams regarding deliveries, site access, delays, and changing jobsite needs.
- Report mechanical issues, damage, maintenance needs, and safety concerns promptly.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, organized, and ready for operation.
- Assist with loading, unloading, material staging, and general jobsite tasks when needed.
- Support snow and ice management operations during the winter season.
- Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, and applicable traffic laws.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
- Air-brake qualified with no air-brake restriction.
- Current DOT medical certificate.
- Acceptable driving record.
- At least one year of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Experience operating tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, hook-lift trucks, roll-off trucks, or construction vehicles preferred.
- Experience securing equipment and materials for transport.
- Ability to safely navigate active commercial and residential construction sites.
- Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
- Ability to use GPS, electronic logs, mobile devices, and basic company communication systems.
- Landscape, construction, excavation, material-delivery, or snow-removal experience is a plus.
Manual-transmission experience, equipment-transport experience, and familiarity with northern New Jersey roads and suppliers are also helpful.
Physical and Schedule Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb into and out of trucks, trailers, and equipment throughout the workday.
- Ability to secure loads, connect trailers, perform inspections, and assist with loading and unloading.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions.
- Availability for early starts, extended shifts, and occasional weekend work based on project needs.
Snow Operations
This position supports snow and ice management operations from approximately October 15 through April 15.
During winter weather events, employees may be required to work overnight, weekend, or extended shifts and report with limited notice. Snow assignments may include operating plow trucks, salt trucks, loaders, or other winter equipment based on experience and training.
