Family Ministries Director (Part-Time)
Position Type: Part-Time Ministry Staff
Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week
Position Summary
Belmont Church is seeking a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled leader with a passion for helping children and families know, love, and follow Jesus.
The Family Ministries Director will help lead and collaborate with other ministry leaders to develop and grow a ministry where children are welcomed, families are supported, volunteers are equipped, and the next generation is encouraged to build a lifelong foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.
This individual will provide leadership and vision for our children’s ministries, strengthen relationships with families in our church and community, and help create opportunities for children and families to encounter the love of Christ.
Primary ResponsibilitiesChildren’s Ministry Leadership
- Develop and oversee Sunday morning children’s ministry environments that are safe, welcoming, engaging, and centered on biblical teaching
- Help children grow in their understanding of Scripture, prayer, worship, and what it means to follow Jesus
- Select, develop, and support age-appropriate curriculum and ministry resources
- Ensure children’s ministry reflects the mission, values, and vision of Belmont Church
Volunteer Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, encourage, and support children’s ministry volunteers
- Equip volunteers to confidently teach, mentor, and model Christian faith and values to children
- Build a healthy team culture where volunteers feel valued and empowered
- Maintain appropriate safety policies, procedures, and training
Family & Community Engagement
- Build relationships with families and seek ways to support parents as the primary spiritual influence in their children’s lives
- Develop connections and partnerships with local schools and community organizations
- Identify opportunities for the church to serve and bless families in our surrounding community
Special Events & Outreach
- Lead and coordinate family-focused outreach events, including:
- Vacation Bible School (VBS)
- Fall Fest
- Easter Egg Hunt
- Christmas events
- Other family ministry opportunities throughout the year
- Work alongside church staff and volunteers to create events that welcome new families and connect them with the church community
Qualifications
- A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out Christian faith
- A passion for children, families, and helping the next generation know Christ
- Ability to lead, encourage, and organize volunteer teams
- Strong communication and relational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to develop and strengthen ministry programs
- Experience working with children, families, schools, churches, or community programs preferred
- Willingness to complete all required background checks and child safety training
- Supportive of the beliefs, mission, and values of Belmont Church
