Medical Records Specialist
Busy Cardiology office looking for a Full-time Medical Records Specialist. Our fast-paced environment is best suited for motivated individuals who have an interest in helping patients, especially as it relates to chronic conditions and preventative care.

General:
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining both paper and/or electronic versions of new and existing medical records by accurately gathering appropriate contents. In addition, this position is responsible for responding to outgoing medical records request in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains paper and electronic patient charts for multiple providers.
- Gathers patient information by collecting from a variety of sources.
- Responds to outgoing medical records request.
- Delivers charts to assigned areas in timely manner.
- Obtains and communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner.
- Back up the reception team on incoming phones calls.
- Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
- Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the office.
- Covers for other medical records functions as requested.
- Performs other administrative duties as directed.
- Actively participates in monthly staff meetings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Some heavy lifting may be required using proper transport techniques
- Knowledge of proper sanitation, personal hygiene, and basic health and safety precautions in a clinical environment
- Ability to adjust specific daily routines to fit patient flow due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
- HIPAA knowledge and compliance a must.
- Ability to pass a drug and background check.

Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1 years in medical healthcare setting preferred
Software Systems: NextGen, Epic, Microsoft Platform
Language: Verbal and written communication skills in English
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
