Provides IT leadership, management, and administration for the College of Law through a partnership between the College and ITS. Delivers reliable, secure, and scalable IT services in support of the College's mission while operating within ITS to align services with university standards, promote service consolidation, and leverage centrally managed systems, resources, and expertise.
Serves as on-site Information Technology Manager for the College of Law and is responsible for overall direction, planning, system implementation, and staffing. Manager of the college's computing facilities, computing systems, databases, software packages, exam delivery system, audiovisual, multimedia, and lecture-capturing technologies. Daily public contact with students, faculty, and staff.
Liaison connecting the College of Law to Information Technology Services (ITS). Position is expected to leverage and work with existing IT systems and services managed by ITS, including virtualization technologies, directory services, SharePoint, web content management systems, network management, e-mail, file
storage, and workstation/lab support. Collaborates with ITS on workstation/system support offerings and processes.
Provides leadership and supervision for embedded IT staff, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management. Fosters a collaborative work environment, supports professional development, and ensures employees have the guidance and resources needed to effectively perform their roles and meet organizational objectives.
Create reports and work with ITS to assess departmental IT needs, track progress. In collaboration with the Dean, determines/documents policies and procedures, and oversees their implementation and enforcement.
Consults with the Dean of the College of Law on strategic planning and determining the budgeting needs of the IT department. Provides advice, recommendations, and consults with the Law School's executive leadership. Researches, evaluates, and selects IT equipment and services.
Provides the development of new/improved teaching, research, and business capabilities.
Assist the department with the inventory tracking of IT equipment. Maintains access to confidential information. Interprets and applies university connectivity, security, and accessibility procedures. Custodian of the College of Law systems and information. Liaison to other FSU academic and business departments.
Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.
