Summary
LesserEvil is an innovative, healthy-snacks brand hiring a VP, Marketing to work on-site at our Danbury, CT office.
In this role, you will serve as the strategic architect of LesserEvil's brand — overseeing both creative and brand marketing functions while partnering closely with Sales, Strategy, Product Development, and Operations. You will directly manage the Creative Director and Associate Director, Brand Marketing, along with their respective teams, fostering a culture that balances creativity and accountability.
A successful candidate for this role brings deep CPG expertise, a strong commercial mindset, and an authentic passion for building brands that people genuinely love. This individual will report directly to the CEO + President.
Responsibilities
- Leading the overall marketing strategy for LesserEvil — owning brand positioning, voice, and identity across all consumer touchpoints, and ensuring consistency and innovation as we grow into new products.
- Translating consumer insights and market trends into actionable strategies.
- Driving the commercialization and go-to-market planning for new products, from naming and packaging through launch execution.
- Partnering with cross functionally to build integrated launch plans that drive distribution and velocity.
- Serving as a key voice of the consumer within the organization, bringing data-based insights to inform decisions.
- Providing strategic direction and oversight to the Creative Director and their design team, ensuring all creative output is on-brand and tied to business objectives, while also exceeding LesserEvil’s high bar for creative excellence.
- Providing leadership and strategic direction to the Associate Director, Brand Marketing and their team on all consumer and trade marketing programs.
- Ensuring all campaign performance is measured, reported, and iterated upon — driving continuous improvement against ROI and KPIs.
- Owning the marketing budget — allocating resources across brand, creative, and channel investments to maximize impact and align with broader company financial targets.
- Providing mentorship, strategic guidance, and performance management for the marketing and design teams.
- Evaluating emerging technologies and platforms, providing a forward-looking perspective on adoption and innovation opportunities.
- Delivering executive-level reporting on brand health, campaign performance, and market trends — translating data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Performing other related duties as assigned and special projects as designated.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred. Equivalent work experience also accepted.
- 10+ years of progressive brand marketing experience; significant CPG experience required.
- Proven track record of leading brand strategy and product commercialization at a growth-oriented company.
- Experience managing and developing multi-disciplinary marketing teams, including creative and brand functions.
- Deep understanding of brand strategy principles, consumer journey development, and omni-channel marketing planning.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience partnering with Sales and translating strategy into measurable business results.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across diverse functional areas.
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects while effectively balancing scope, resourcing, time, and quality.
- An insatiable sense of curiosity, and a love for rolling up your sleeves and getting to work.
- Positive attitude and genuine excitement for growing LesserEvil's brand and mission.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in Danbury, CT
- Must have a reliable vehicle as daily trips between factory, warehouse, and office may be necessary
