Summary: You will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, can read technical drawings, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, grinding, or cutting
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job orders
- Translate instructions into machine commands using basic programming or preloaded software
- Load raw materials and parts onto machines
- Conduct test runs to verify machine output matches specifications
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)
- Perform routine maintenance and report any mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate records of production and machine settings
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or vocational / technical school equivalent
- Experience in CNC machining or manufacturing
- Participate in on-the-job training
- Familiarity with CNC machinery, measuring instruments
- Strong understanding of machining processes and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
