Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. Most of the work will be civil defense litigation. We will consider 0 to 7 years of experience., with compensation based upon experience.
As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal support and assisting with various legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the law and wants to grow their career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues
- Assist with legal drafting, including contracts, agreements, and legal documents
- Prepare and file legal documents with the appropriate courts or agencies
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Attend client meetings and consultations
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal administrative tasks
- Experience with Westlaw for legal research
- Ability to draft legal documents effectively
- Litigation experience is preferred but not required
