Electrical Inspector

About the Role
Epcon is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to support quality assurance and compliance efforts on a regulator upgrade project. The Electrical Inspector will monitor electrical installation work to ensure compliance with project specifications, national codes, and client standards across construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect electrical installations including conduit, cable tray, wiring, grounding, instrumentation, and control systems for compliance with approved drawings and specifications
- Verify work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable client/company standards
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and P&IDs
- Document daily inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and punch lists
- Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and client representatives to resolve discrepancies
- Witness testing of electrical systems (megger testing, continuity, grounding resistance)
- Ensure compliance with site safety protocols and client HSE requirements
- Maintain accurate inspection records and photo documentation for project close-out
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience as an Electrical Inspector on industrial, pipeline, or midstream construction projects
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and NETA standards
- Experience with hazardous area classifications (Class I, Div 1/2) preferred
- Relevant certifications preferred: NICET Electrical Inspection, ICC Electrical Inspector, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and instrumentation
- OSHA 30 certification required
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work extended hours as needed
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
